Ptu - Brain Lover



This tutorial was written in PSP 9 and can be used with any other version. I assume that you have a working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed:
Tube of choice/close up


Paid Scrap kit by Toxic Desirez
"Brainz & Romance" Purchase at Smiley Creations


Font of choice
Winter Gotham

Temp314 by Kristin

Plugins Optional:
red paw media - beautifier
xero - radiance



Tutorial shortcut index:
"Delete" on your keyboard under Insert.
"C/P" copy and paste as new layer.
Remove "O/L" Remove original layer.
"D/S" Drop shadow located in 3D effects.
"R/S" Resize layer located in Image.
New "R/L" Raster layer, in Layers.
"outer glow" Gradient glow from eye candy
Or my method on my blog under "How to dos"

Good D/S settings:
0, 0, 57, 6, color black

Good add noise settings:
Uniform- 70-90 % noise monochrome
Random- 10-34% noise monochrome

Open temp R/S to 80% canvas 600x600
Remove copyrights, and raster 9

Select raster 3, Open close up tube of choice
Fill the circle enough to fill it with you tube
Selections all float defloat, C/P tube onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none

Turn tube to greyscale - blend mode- screen
Open main tube, C/P onto canvas, place to the left

Adjust- sharpen. Xero - radiance these settings:
(or your own settings depending on your tube)
Strangness 128, Charm 50, Truth 128, Beauty 24

D/S - 0 0 45 5 color black. shadow layer unchecked
Hide tube layer for now. Let's begin the rest of the temp


*Raster 2*
Select raster2, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper7 - R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - this layer already has an outer glow
So just add noise again, and apply drop shadow

*Raster & Copy  of 5*
Select raster5, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper8 - R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - apply outer glow, D/S
Adding noise or outer glow is optional

*Raster & Copy  of 4*
Select raster4, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper10 - R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - apply outer glow, D/S
Adding noise or outer glow is optional

*Raster & Copy  of 6*
Select raster6, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper1 - R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - apply outer glow, D/S
Adding noise or outer glow is optional

*Raster & Copy  of 7*
Select raster7, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper5 - R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - apply outer glow, D/S
Adding noise or outer glow is optional

*Raster & Copy  of 8*
Select raster8, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper4 - R/S to80 % C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - apply outer glow, D/S
Adding noise or outer glow is optional

Now i colorize the wordout to fit the papers


Now it's element time


Elements i used and the resized %
Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 43, 7, color black
Teddy - 30%
Glass - 25%
Candy1 - 40%
Finger - 20%
Hands - 40%
Rose - 30%
Heart1 - 20%
Cupcake - 15%
Sparkles - 60%
Ice Scream - 40%
Lollipop - 20%

I went and applied xero - moodlight settings:
On a few of my elements.  this is optional
target brightness 128, tolerance 30, original color 128,
mistiness 5,  aggression 0

place elements where you want, or use my tag as a guide.
Apply your mask, copyrights,  add your name save as a PNG
You're done!

penta.com - color dot
photoeffex - scanlines

Open template R/S 80% canvas size 600x600
Remove wordart, left/right dotted square and copyrite

Select circle, selections- all- float- defloat
Open paper2 R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, selections invert
delete select none. remove original layer, apply outer glow
add noise/then apply dropshadow of choice

Select the inside of the stars (right/left back)
Open your tube of choice, i put my tubes inside each star
change blend mode to screen, tube changed to greyscale
I also applied penta.com- color dot settings 72, 4, 255, 255, 255

Open tube of choice, R/S C/P onto canvas, placed her in the center
Select left rectangle2, selections- all- float- defloat. Open paper4
R/S to 80%, C/P onto canvas, selections invert- delete, select none
Do this same step with the right, now apply outer glow to both
Choose color of choice, then add noise, and drop shadow of choice

While the paper layer is selected, Adjust- bright/contrast
settings: Bright 29, Contrast 8, apply once to all papers

Now do the same for the rest of your templates

Left/right rectangle3 i used paper11 R/S to 80%
Left/right rectangle1 i used paper8 R/S to 80%
Select round rectangle (black one) I applied scanlines
settings: 2, 2, 20, 10, 0, 61 vertical toggle unclicked
Go back and apply this again but this time click vertical toggle


Now it's element time


Elements i used and the resized %
Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 66, 8, color black
Steam - 80%
Cupcake - 25%
Watch - 30%
Flower1 - 30%
Flower2 - 40%
Gun - 20%
Bullet - 15%
Bomb - 25%
Lips - 30%
Grenade - 25%
Sparkles - 40%




place elements where you want, or use my tag as a guide.
Apply your copyrights,  add your name save as a PNG
You're done!

Open element 4, R/S to 88%, Image- canvas size set to 600x600
Open element 3, R/S to 76%, C/P onto your canvas, select your deform
tool. I then used the nodes to make it look like the below image


Merge these together, select your magic wand click inside frame
selections-modify- expand by7, open paper5, R/S to 60%
On paper, Adjust- brightness/contrast. B -12, C 43. OK
Now C/P onto canvas, selections- invert- delete. select none
now drag your paper layer below frame.

Select your paper layer, using this plugin, xero- fritillary
settings: 5, 30, 10, 18, or use settings of choice. now sharpen
Duplicate this layer, xenofex 2- constellation, settings below


Now duplicate your sparkle layer, just to make it stand out
Open tube of choice, R/S, now C/P onto your canvas in the middle
 i added radiance, settings of choice,  then D/S


Now it's element time

Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 30, 8, color black
Element115 - 80%
Element140 - 80%
Element26 - 30%
Element40 - 30%
Element8 - 20%
Element12 - 15%
Element20 - 20%
Element23 - 25%
Element54 - 50%



place elements where you want, or use my tag as a guide.
After i merged my tag i added red paw media beautifier plugin
settings: 46, 63, 22, 100, or use your own settings

Mask: i used paper16, R/S to 80% an changed brightness
Settings: Brightness 23, Contrast 28, apply this a few times
Apply your mask- add copyrights, your name save as a PNG
You're done!
