Ptu - Carnival Girl



This tutorial was written in PSP 9 and can be used with any other version. I assume that you have a working knowledge of PSP.

Tube of choice/close up


Paid Scrap kit by Toxic Desirez
"Dead Carnival" Purchase at Hania's Design



Font of choice
Thin Design

Mask of choice
I don't remember the name
But i used a WSL_Mask Here

Plugins Optional:
Redpaw media - beautifier
Xero - radiance


Tutorial shortcut index:
"Delete" on your keyboard under Insert.
"C/P" copy and paste as new layer.
Remove "O/L" Remove original layer.
"D/S" Drop shadow located in 3D effects.
"R/S" Resize layer located in Image.
New "R/L" Raster layer, in Layers.
"outer glow" Gradient glow from eye candy

Good D/S settings:
0, 0, 57, 6, color black

Good add noise settings:
Uniform- 70-90 % noise monochrome
Random- 10-34% noise monochrome

No tubes - Kit only

Open frame 3 R/S to 80% Canvas size 650x50
Duplicate and mirror frame. Select eraser tool
i erased the over lapping frames. so it looks like 1 now
Merge these two frames together now

Open girlie R/S to 36% C/P onto canvas
i placed her in the middle covering any imperfections
This is where you'd place your tube if you wanted. D/S

Select magic wand - click inside frame, selections
modify-expand by 21, Open grass R/S to 60%
C/P onto canvas inside marching ants, drag where you want
selections - invert delete. select none. drag below frame

Open ring of fire - R/S to 45% C/P onto canvas
drag to right side D/S. Open tiger R/S to 38%
C/P onto canvas drag near ring, apply D/S

Open carousel R/S to 40% C/P onto canvas
drag behind all layers i placed it so you can
see it through the ring of fire apply D/S

Open ferriswheel R/S to 30%
C/P onto canvas, again drag to the very bottom
place to the left side, erase anything sticking out

Open tent R/S to 40% C/P onto canvas
drag to the bottom of everything, and behind
the ferriswheel, apply D/S 

Select your frame selections - modify
expand by 21, Open paper 4 R/S to 60%
C/P onto canvas selections - invert, delete none
drag paper layer below everything including frame

Using your dodge tool opacity at 61%
I use brushed it over the paper layer twice
this brightens it up alittle bit so the elements
aren't clashing into the paper.

Apply drop shadow on your frame
Applied noise -  random at 7% monochrome



Now it's element time

Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 50, 7, color black
Skull2 - 22%
Game - 50%
Popcorn bag - 20%
Popcorn - 30%
Cotton candy - 25%
Ball1 - 12%
Mask - 17%

Apply your mask, copyrights,  add your name save as a PNG
I applied beautifier to the whole tag, setting of choice
I used paper 2 for my mask layer

I used the artwork of Ismael Rac
Tube of choice i used "2013Tough Attitude"
He's now at S&Co so search for the tube there
Or choose something else. Website & Tubes

Open a 650x50 canvas comic frame R/S to 85% 
Open tube of choice R/S % of choice, C/P onto canvas
Drag where you want you might need to change it later

Duplicate tube mirror turn to greyscale
Place two so you see the face but tubes back to back
I also colorized my tube to kit the scrapkit, do this if you like

Duplicate your frame and now drag above your tube layers
Now i went and erased parts of the frame/tube so it looked
like her and her "shadow twin" was coming out of parts of the comic
You might need to move your tube to fit perfectly like i did

Select the frame thats in 1 piece (original) 
Using magic wand click inside the two middle frames
Selections - modify - expand by 6
Open city R/S to 45% C/P onto canvas
drag below frame, but in the middle of marching ants
C/P as many times as you need to fill them i did 2
Selections - invert - delete (on each layer)
selections none, apply D/S

Using magic wand click inside top right frame
selections - modify - expand by 6
Open Background R/S to 35% C/P onto canvas
Using mover tool drag inside your marching ants
selections - invert - delete select none
drag below frame and any tube sticking out

Click inside the bottom two frames
selections - modify - expand by 6
Open paper3 R/S to 65% C/P onto canvas
using mover tool drag inside marching ants
selections - invert delete. select none drag below frame


Now back to frame, click inside the two middle frames
selections - modify - expand by 6
Open paper5 R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
drag paper inside marching ants, selections - invert 
delete. select none, drag below frame layer
Since we put the city in this section make sure you
drag your paper below that element too

One more time, select frame. click inside top left frame
selections - modify - expand by 6
Open paper 6 R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
drag inside ants, selections - invert - delete select none
drag paper layer below your frame layer


Now it's element time

Open arch R/S to 55% set canvas 650x650
Drag arch to left hand side kinda in the middle
Adjust - hue/sat - colorize - greyscale

Click inside arch, selections - all float deloat
modify - expand by 5 Open paper 1 R/S to 60%
C/P onto canvas, selections - invert - delete. select none
drag your paper layer below arch

Open grass R/S to 66% C/P onto canvas on top of arch but near bottom 
Duplicate this grass and place it above and below the other grass

Open tree 2 R/S to 40% C/P onto canvas cover the harsh cut on the side of arch
Duplicate trees mirror and place the tree right next to the other tree D/S
After my tag you can see i duplicated this and spread it all over the bckground


Open tube R/S to 38% or percentage of choice, sharpen tube
then C/P onto canvas drag on the other sde of arch
apply radiance then drop shadow of choice
Now it's element time

Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 66, 7, color black
Blood - 20%
Cape - 25%
Castle - 40%
Tree 1 - 45%
Moon - 15%
Basket  - 20%
Apples - 15%

Open canvas size 660x660
Open grass R/S to 60% C/P onto canvas
Duplicate several times to make a bit of a grass scene 
near the bottom of your canvas as close to the bottom as you wanr

Open tube R/S to 62% or your own settings if you're
using a different tube than the one i'm using
Apple two different drop shadows
0, 0, 44, 5 & 0, 6, 44, 5

Aplly radiance, 109, 50, 128, 33
Or settings of choice, depends on the tube you use

Zoom in on your tube, with burn tool selected
Opacity at 71% i just made her outfit darker to match the 
darker watermelon in this kit. this is optional

Open frame R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
drag to the right and under any grass layers
duplicate grass and slide the other to the left
behind grass, then drag it below the first frame, and now
with your eraser tool erase the lopped frame that's in the way
Hide all - but frame - merge - now unhide everything again

Using magic wand click inside frame, selections
modify - expand by 9. Open pp12 R/S to 80%
C/P onto canvas, selections - indert, delete select none
Now drag this paper below your frame

Now i went back and did this step again
but then i C/P close up tube of choice
I added D/S, radiance, and porcelain
D/S and radiance settings above. 
Porcelain: 50, 79, 128, 0, 0, 255


Now it's element time


Elements i used and the resized %
Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 60, 8, color black
Sign - 40%
Leaves - 30%
Leaf2 - 20%
Seeds - 25%
Flower 3 - 30%
Ice Cream 25%
Cuppy - 18%
Watermelon2 - 20%
Watermelon1 - 20%
Watermelone slice3 - 15%
Watermelon slice2 - 17%
Watermelone slices - 15%
Mushrooms - 20%
Butterfly - 20%

I used both of these papers with the same mask, 2&3
Put kept paper2 on top it just made it deeper in color

Open ribbon R/S to 30% C/P onto canvas
Drag to the middle right side - duplicate - mirror
duplicate again and flip make sure points are touching
duplicate - mirror - points touching once more
you should have an incomplete rectangle with gaps in center

Open candy string R/S to 60% C/P onto top of the gap
Open cupcake R/S to 50% C/P onto canvas drag in the middle
Open candy1 R/S to 40% C/P onto canvas drag left of cupcake
Open candy2 R/S to 40% C/P onto canvas drag bottom of cupcake
Open ring pop R/S to 30% C/P onto canvas mirror, put left side behind kiss me 
Open Flower3 R/S to 40% C/P onto canvas place behind cupcake on right side
Open wordart C/P onto canvas drag below everything (including mask)
Add noise then just apply a drop shadow of choice

Now place a black background inside the frame
Either merge all layers using your magic wand click inside frame
Flood fill color black. Open tube of choice C/P inside each frame
lower opacity down settings of choice. apply radiance to tubes
Apply scanlines to tube and black background. default settings

Open your main tube R/S down to a very smaller size
C/P onto canvas, i dragged in front of cupcake D/S

added radiance to my tube, then beautifier to my whole tag
Add your mask - copyrights, name, save as a PNG and you're done!

Remove these layers: 13, 5, 4, 7 & copy7

Open tube of choice, R/S if needed
C/P onto canvas, drag in center apply D/S
i used a regular shadow then i used this
-1, -8, 67, 5 color black. or settings of choice

I also applied slight radiance to tube and sharpened

Select raster11  selections all float defloat. open pp1
R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, invert - delete, select none
apply gradient glow of choice - add noise - drop shadow
Do the same step for copy of raster 11


Select raster8  selections all float defloat. open pp7
R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, invert - delete, select none
apply gradient glow of choice - add noise - drop shadow
Do the same step for copy of raster 8


Select raster3  selections all float defloat. open pp4
R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, invert - delete, select none
apply gradient glow of choice - add noise - drop shadow
Do the same step for copy of raster 3


Select raster9  selections all float defloat. open pp12
R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, invert - delete, select none
apply gradient glow of choice - add noise - drop shadow
Do the same step for copy of raster 9


Select raster10  selections all float defloat. open pp11
R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, invert - delete, select none
apply gradient glow of choice - add noise - drop shadow
Do the same step for copy of raster 10


Select raster2  selections all float defloat. open 2 pp's 3 & 5
R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, invert - delete, select none
Do for both papers, delete on each layer too, then using selection tool
divide the circle in half and delete on the side of the paper you want on that side
apply gradient glow of choice - add noise - drop shadow

Open gear R/S to 40% C/P onto canvas, drag on top of the layer 6
Remove layer 6 now place this gear there, do the same for the bottom

Open frame2 R/S to 40% i turned this greyscale
C/P onto canvas, drag above circle layers in the background
duplicate and mirror - flip so the bottom is matching - D/S

Select raster 12 selections all float defloat - open tube of choice
C/P onto canvas, drag inside marching ants - insert - delete, select none
Turn tube greyscale, apply slight radiance - settings of choice
lower opacity down to 54% or settings of choice

Apply PhotoEffex - scanlines - i used default settings
apply outer glow - add noise - drop shadow 




Now it's element time

Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 61, 6, color black
Gun - 40%
Bullets - 20%
Skull1 - 20%
Bullet Holes - 40%
Gas Mask - 25%
Cuppy - 20%
Bomb2 - 25%

Blood - 45%

Open template R/S to 88% Cnvas size 650x650
Remove credits, layers 11 & copy, 2, 4 & copy, 5 & copy

Open runwayh R/S to 65% C/P onto canvas 
drag down to the bottom as far as you want

Now is the time to choose your tube R/S if needed
C/P onto canvas tube should be in the middle
of up closer to the smaller part of the run way
D/S both and just go ahead and hide to work on the temp

Apply radiance and drop shadow to your tube

Select raster 8 - selections all float defloat, Open pp10
R/S to 80% C/P onto your canvas drag where you want
 inside marching ants. selections - invert - delete, select none.
Apply any outer glow you want - add noise D/S
Do the same for copy of raster 8

Select raster 10  - selections all float defloat, Open pp 6
R/S to 80% C/P onto your canvas drag where you want
 inside marching ants. selections - invert - delete, select none.
Apply any outer glow you want - add noise D/S
Do the same for copy of raster 10


Select raster9  - selections all float defloat, Open pp8
R/S to 80% C/P onto your canvas 
selections - invert - delete, select none.
Apply any outer glow you want - add noise D/S
Do the same for copy of raster 9

Select raster 7 - selections all float defloat, Open pp7
R/S to 80% C/P onto your canvas 
 selections - invert - delete, select none.
Apply any outer glow you want - add noise D/S
Do the same for copy of raster 7

Close out of all of your layers but your pink circles
MERGE. - unhide everything, Now selections all float defloat
Add new raster layer - flood fill gradient of choice
I made my own with the colors from the suitcase

Now open clouds 1, 2 and the heart clouds
R/S cloud1 to 40%, cloud2 50% heart cloud 30%
C/P clouds onto canvas, using move tool drag
inside marching ants where you want - selections invert
delet (on each cloud layer) select none.

Open Boy & plane R/S 20% to C/P onto canvas
Place him inside the right hand circle R/S

Open sun R/S to 30% C/P onto canvas on the left circle
drag behind your cloud layers


Now it's element time

Sign - 30%
Tree - 40%
Control Tower - 50%

Open temp R/S 85% Cnvas size 650x650
Remove credits and these layers, 3, 4, 10 and copy of 10

Open tube C/P onto canvas, drag off to the right side
apply drop shadow, and duplicate tube
Select layer 4, selections all float defloat - invert
select back on your main tube hit delete
select none. go back to your duplicate (copy raster)
erase any parts of the tube you don't want to see 

Select layer 4 selections all float defloat
C/P close up tube of choice - mirror first
C/P inti marching ants, drag inside where you want
select invert - delete. select none. turn tube grey scale
apply radiance on both main tube and inside rectangle
and apply scan lines on tube inside rectangle

Select raster 9, selections all float defloat
Open paper3, R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
selections - invert - delete. select none
do the same for copy of raster 9 - outer glow of choice

Select copy of raster 4. selections all float defloat
add new raster layer flood fill gradient of choice
Selections none. remove temp layer add noise D/S

Select raster 8 selections all float defloat, open paper5
R/S to 60% C/P onto canvas, selections invert - delete, select none
do the same for copy of raster 8 - then apply outer glow on both
choose to add noise then D/S or just drop shadow

Select raster 7 selections all float defloat, open paper11
R/S to 60% C/P onto canvas, selections invert - delete, select none
do the same for copy of raster 7 - then apply outer glow on both
choose to add noise then D/S or just drop shadow

Select raster 6 selections all float defloat, open paper4
R/S to 60% C/P onto canvas, selections invert - delete, select none
do the same for copy of raster 6 - then apply outer glow on both
choose to add noise then D/S or just drop shadow

Select raster 2 selections all float defloat, open paper
R/S to 60% C/P onto canvas, selections invert - delete, select none
then apply outer glow on both if you want, add noise D/S


Now it's element time

Rose - 40%
Skull Hand - 30%
Heart - 20%
Potion - 25%
Blood - 30%

Raven - 20%
Skull1 - 15%

Apply your copyrights,  add your name save as a PNG
I applied beautifier to the whole tag, setting of choice

Ptu - Arrow Of Love

Tutorial shortcut index:
"Delete" on your keyboard under Insert.
"C/P" copy and paste as new layer.

Uniform- 70-90 % noise monochrome

Select promoted selections. all float defloat
add new raster layer, select gradient of choice
Using paint bucket flood fill. select none, remove O/L

Select all float defloat modify-expand by 2
add new raster, flood fill your 2nd gradient
select none. drag below your xoxo layer
Add noise - then apply drop shadow

select raster 2, selections all float defloat
Open paper11 R/S to 60% C/P onto canvas
selections invert - delete. select none. remove O/L
do the same step for raster 5. apply your outer glow of choice

Select raster 3 selections all float defloat
Open paper9 R/S to 60% C/P onto canvas
selections - invert - delete. select none remove O/L


Select raster 4 selections all float defloat, open paper 7
C/P onto canvas, selections - invert, delete . select none. remove O/L


Now it's element time

Select merged (rectangles), selections all float defloat
Open paper13  R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, drag into selection
 selections invert - delete. select none
on raster 7 i just colorized then applied D/S

Select merged (3 stripes), selections all float defloat
Open paper11  R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, drag into selection
 selections invert - delete. select none
apply outer glow of choice -  D/S

Select raster 8, selections all float defloat
Open paper6  R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, drag into selection
 selections invert - delete. select none
apply outer glow of choice - add noise -  D/S

 Select raster4, selections all float defloat
Open paper3  R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, drag into selection
 selections invert - delete. select none
on raster 5 i colorized - add noise again - D/S

Select merged (3 circles), selections all float defloat
Open paper10  R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas, drag into selection
 selections invert - delete. select none
remove raster 2. apply your own glow - add noise - D/S

Open tube of choice, C/P onto canvas leave in the middle
if she's standing up drag alittle closer to the bottom
drop shadow, apply radiance both settings of choice

I clicked inside the front circles, R/S the close up 
placed tube inside half the circle. turn grey scale
apply radiance then drop shadow of choice
duplicate and mirror. then place in the middle if you want
even though you won't really see it

Now it's element time

Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 66, 5, color black
Frame3 - 37%
Sack - 30%
Elf - 25%
Sign - 40%
Deer - 40%
Cuppy - 30%
Lights - 80%
Sparkles - 50%
Bear in stocking - 25%
Candy Canes - 25%
Tree - 60%
