Ptu - Walking Dead


This tutorial was written in PSP 9 and can be used with any other version. I assume that you have a working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies Needed:
Tube of choice/close up


Paid Scrap kit by Toxic Desirez
"Zombocalypse" Purchase at Skullified Scrapz

Temp393 & 355 by Kristin 
Main HERE and Wordart HERE
 (used wordart from 355)

Font of choice
2Peas airplanes


Plugins Optional:
Xero - radiance
Penta.com - dot and cross
Xenofex 2 - crumple


Tutorial shortcut index:
"Delete" on your keyboard under Insert.
"C/P" copy and paste as new layer.
Remove "O/L" Remove original layer.
"D/S" Drop shadow located in 3D effects.
"R/S" Resize layer located in Image.
New "R/L" Raster layer, in Layers.
"outer glow" Gradient glow from eye candy
Or my method on my blog under "How to dos"

Good D/S settings:
0, 0, 57, 6, color black

Good add noise settings:
Uniform- 70-90 % noise monochrome
Random- 10-34% noise monochrome

Open template R/S 70%, Canvas size 620x620
Remove credits and raster 3 and 2

Also open temp355 by kristin as well. and take off the
walking dead wordart and background and place it on this tag.
Go to adjust brightness/contrast -255, -100 turns wordart black
then apply a bevel of choice to the wordart


Open tube R/S to 38%  C/P onto canvas, keep in the center
drag your tube layer below the walking dead wordart
D/S of choice or these settings: 0, 5, 66, 5, black


Select raster4 , selection all float defloat
Open paper R/S to 60% C/P on canvas, selections 
invert- delete, select none, remove original layer

Select raster 7 and copy. apply penta.com
dot and cross settings: 50, 16, 2. on both layers

Select raster8, selection all float defloat
Open paper4, R/S to 60% C/P on canvas, selections - invert
delete, select none, remove O/L then drop shadow

Select copy raster8, selection all float defloat
Open paper4, C/P on canvas, selections - invert
delete, select none, remove O/L then drop shadow

Select  raster5, selection all float defloat
Open paper3, R/S to 60% C/P on canvas, selections - invert
delete, select none, remove O/L then drop shadow

Select raster 10, and copy, and apply crumple plugin
Xenofex 2 - crumple. settings default but crumple size 6.49

Select raster9, selection all float defloat
Open paper9 R/S to 60% C/P on canvas, selections - invert
delete, select none, remove O/L  then drop shadow

Select copy raster9, selection all float defloat
Open pape9r, C/P on canvas, selections - invert
delete, select none, remove O/L then drop shadow

Select raster 6, selections all float defloat
Open close up tube. C/P onto canvas, drag inside the circle
selections - invert - delete. select none. turn tube grayscale
duplicate mirror and drag tube layer above copy of raster 6 if it's hiding
Apply radiance settings: 128, 50, 128, 61

Open grass R/S to 40% C/P onto canvas drag near the bottom duplicate to cover
make sure it's behind your tube and wordart

Remove the zombie temp layer, which is all of 11


Now it's element time

Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 38, 6, color black
Fence - 60%
Finger - 15%
Foot - 15%
Guts - 15%
Skeleton - 30%
Barrel - 20%
Brain - 12%
Blood splatter - 40%
Cross bow - 25%

Zombie 2 - 40%
Hand Print - 20%
Sign 2 - 40%
Bat with nails - 20%
Knife - 25%
Skull Pile - 25%

Zombie Summer - CT Tag

I don't know about you, but i love Zombies and Summer!!
If you love those themes too, Imagine if they were put together?!

I made two tags, Showing off the Summer side, Then showing the Zombie side!!

PhotoEffext - scanlines
Red paw media - beautifier
(i apply this to the overrall tag)
Xero - radiance

Open template R/S to W75, H80%
Canvas size 600x600 - Remove these layers
C/R, raster 11, 5, raster 3 and copy raster 3

Select raster 4, selections all float defloat. Open pp10
R/S to 60%, C/P onto canvas, selections - invert- delete
select none, remove original layer

Select raster 10, Adjust - brightness/contrast
Bring contrast down to -100 this wil turn this layer black
Drag this zombie layer below your new circle paper layer
Also behind the copy of raster 4, duplicate and mirror

Colorize copy of raster 4, i used blue from the scrapkit
Add noise again and then apply drop shadow

Select raster 3 - selections all float defloat, Open pp8
R/S to 60%, C/P onto cannvas, selections - invert - delete
select none, remove original layer - apply outer glow 
Do same step for copy of raster 3

Select raster7  - selections all float defloat, Open pp9
R/S to 60%, C/P onto cannvas, selections - invert - delete
select none, remove original layer - apply outer glow 
Do same step for copy of raster 7

Select raster8  - selections all float defloat, Open pp4
R/S to 60%, C/P onto cannvas, selections - invert - delete
select none, remove original layer - apply outer glow 
Do same step for copy of raster 8

Select raster9  - selections all float defloat, Open pp5
R/S to 60%, C/P onto cannvas, selections - invert - delete
select none, remove original layer - apply outer glow 
Do same step for copy of raster 9

Select raster 6, selectiona all float defloat add new raster layer
Choose color of choice, then flood fill, selections select none
Do the same for the copy of raster 6, outert glow on both layers

Go back and fill this layer with tube of choice
Turned the tube to greyscale Change blend mode to screen
Apply scanlines - PhotoEffex - using default settings 

On the zombie layer, i put in my zombie tube inside this layer
I turned tube greyscale, turned opacity to 54% added radiance
 I then applied a white outer glow to the zombies layer - added noise

Open main tube of choice. C/P onto canvas leave in the middle
Apply out glow expand by 1. Flood fill color black - hide tube layer
Drag out your black layer alittle. unhide your tube and now it should
look like a black casted shadow. apply an actual shadow to the black layer

Open wire - R/S to 50% colorize to greyscale - sharpen once
C/P onto canvas, drag near bottom but above that last layer. D/S
Duplicate this wire, image flip then mirror, dor for all corners

Open blood splatter R/S to 30% C/P onto canvas i placed near the bottom
Also bottom of all layers But above wire, duplicate - flip - mirror


Select your burn tool and go over the splatters once to darken the blood
I also added splatters abive the layer we added the tubes too
but below the zombies layers, this is optional 


Now it's element time


Elements i used and the resized %
Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 43, 7, color black
Sign - 25%
Lollipop1 - 40%
(i only used the brain)
Barrel - 25%
Bloody hand - 30%
Cupcake - 25%
Bloody eye - 12%
Lollipop2 - 40%
(i only used the gut heart
Needle - 20%

Open temp R/S to 80% canvas 600x600
Remove copyrights, and raster 9

Select raster 3, Open close up tube of choice
Fill the circle enough to fill it with you tube
Selections all float defloat, C/P tube onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none

Turn tube to greyscale - blend mode- screen
Open main tube, C/P onto canvas, place to the left

Adjust- sharpen. Xero - radiance these settings:
(or your own settings depending on your tube)
Strangness 128, Charm 50, Truth 128, Beauty 24

D/S - 0 0 45 5 color black. shadow layer unchecked
Hide tube layer for now. Let's begin the rest of the temp


*Raster 2*
Select raster2, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper7 - R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - this layer already has an outer glow
So just add noise again, and apply drop shadow

*Raster & Copy  of 5*
Select raster5, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper8 - R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - apply outer glow, D/S
Adding noise or outer glow is optional

*Raster & Copy  of 4*
Select raster4, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper10 - R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - apply outer glow, D/S
Adding noise or outer glow is optional

*Raster & Copy  of 6*
Select raster6, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper1 - R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - apply outer glow, D/S
Adding noise or outer glow is optional

*Raster & Copy  of 7*
Select raster7, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper5 - R/S to 80% C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - apply outer glow, D/S
Adding noise or outer glow is optional

*Raster & Copy  of 8*
Select raster8, selections all- float- defloat
Open paper4 - R/S to80 % C/P onto canvas
Selections- invert - delete, select none
Remove O/L - apply outer glow, D/S
Adding noise or outer glow is optional

Now i colorize the wordout to fit the papers


Now it's element time

Teddy - 30%
Glass - 25%
Candy1 - 40%
Finger - 20%
Hands - 40%
Rose - 30%
Heart1 - 20%
Cupcake - 15%
Sparkles - 60%
Ice Scream - 40%
Lollipop - 20%

I went and applied xero - moodlight settings:
On a few of my elements.  this is optional
target brightness 128, tolerance 30, original color 128,
mistiness 5,  aggression 0

Ptu - Infected Area

Open element45, R/S to 80% image- canvas size 600x600
Using magic wand click inside frame, selections- modify- expand
by 9. open close up tube of choice, C/P onto your canvas, selections-
invert- delete. select none. drag below your frame layer.

Clicking the inside of your frame again, this time C/P paper 1, R/S to 60%
selections- invert- delete. select none. drag below frame and tube layer

I did this step once more and i put in close up tube again, filled it, then
changed blend mode to screen, on my paper layer i changed brightness/contrast
B -6, C 8, then i applied i slight radiance on my tube, and scan lines on tube layer

Make sure you merge your paper with your tubes layer (not main tube)
Once you do this. duplicate apply xenofex 2 - constellation, settings of choice
make sure on your duplicated layer to click "make selection transparent"

I applied moodlight to my main tube, everything default but original
color settings should be set to 115. or choose your own settings
then i applied i slight radiance, settings of choice


On my frame layer, i applied outer glow, added noise then D/S

Now it's element time

Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 56, 5, color black
Element35 - 30%
Element23 - 20%
Element57 - 15%
Element27 - 30%
Element47 - 9%

 fill colors of choice, i did half black the other pink, select none. add outer glow then D/P
I also added a close up tube inside this circle. pink side got blend mode screen

I also went to brightness contrast settings, 11 bright, 30 contrast
while the black side i turned the tube greyscale lowering opacity 60%
I then also added bright/contrast, settings b-6, c-30, this is optional

Plugins i added to each side, pink side screenworks - dot screen
pent.com - jeans on the black side. these are also optional

Now it's element time

Using this drop shadow: 0, 0, 61, 5, color black
Wordart2 - 70%
Balloons - 30%
Zombie noms - 30%
Cuppy1 - 25%
Finger - 20%
Guts - 25%
Heart2 - 25%
Brain - 30%

Foot - 20%
Sparkles - 40%

After i merged my tag i added red paw media beautifer plugin
settings: 50, 50, 32, 100, or use settings of choice
